Who are we

What Kind of Church is This?

It is safe to say that an identity helps establish awareness about any entity. When it comes to a congregation of God’s people, it is natural for one to conclude a church, is a church, is a church.” Unfortunately, this simplistic summation of the structure, purpose, and function of a spiritual body is not in line with what the Bible reveals. Scriptures are very clear about the structure, organisation, and responsibilities a church should have. We understand nonetheless, how the existence of so many denominations/congregations (who claim to represent God) have contributed to much of the confusion you may be experiencing in your quest to know God.

Perhaps you are looking for a church which is striving simply to be like the one you read about in the New Testament—nothing more and nothing less (cf. Matthew 16: 13-19; Acts. 2: 37-41; Jn.17:13-21, Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 1: 13-14). That is what we are striving to be— A group of Christians banded together through the gospel of Jesus Christ simply because we believe “the gospel is the power of God for salvation” (Romans 1:16). We are a people who are compelled by the spiritual authority of the Bible only— not by any creed—nor any tradition!

We make no pretense of being perfect, but we are   nonetheless committed to following Christ. Our purpose is to help draw all men to the Lord. And we use the all sufficient gospel of Jesus Christ to accomplish this mission. We believe sincerely that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and that “no one comes to the Father but through [Him]” (John 14:6).

You can be one of those who decide to give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ by believing in His words, repent, and be baptised for the forgiveness of your sins and receive the gift of eternal life (Acts 2: 37f; Romans 10). We invite you to come join us on this journey towards glory by having your joy be made full through Him who is the author and perfecter of faith (  Hebrews 12: 2).

Our Background

A Church like Christ Built

Is this possible?

Yes. Since seed always reproduces after its own kind, the Church can exist today, just like the one of the first century. The word of God is the spiritual seed (Matthew 16:16-19; Luke 8: 11; 1 Peter 1: 23), and when it is obeyed without addition or subtraction then the characteristics of New Testament Christianity will be reproduced. That is why we humbly subject our lives to the one “who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (cf. 2 Timothy 1: 9-10).

Our Worship Service

Let us walk you through our Worship Service

Singing

Singing

One of the unique things about the Lord’s Church is that the songs are sung “acapella”— That is, we sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments. We worship God in songs with our voices and hearts based on the teachings of Paul in Ephesians 5:18-19, “speaking to one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord.

This is a conviction with us, not just a preference. We are seeking to worship God in light of the New Testament pattern set forth in the Bible. According to the precedent set in the New Testament, Christians sang in their worship to the Lord without any instrumental music. Therefore, we believe we should follow the same pattern (1 Thessalonians 2:1-7; Colossians 3: 16-17; Hebrews 13: 15).

Preaching

Preaching

You will notice that the one preaching does not have a title. He won’t be referred to as Pastor or Reverend or Father. He may be referred to as a brother, but he will probably just be called by his name. He won’t be wearing ecclesiastical vestments which set him apart, but rather he will be wearing regular clothes like everyone else. The sermon will probably be 15-25 minutes in length and you will find it refreshingly Bible -centered ( 2 Timothy 4: 2-5).

Prayers

Prayers

There will be several prayers during the service. There may be prayers for specific needs and or requests. In each of these prayers, the entire congregation will be led by one of the men within our membership (cf. Philippians 4: 6-7; 1 Timothy 2:8; James 5:13-15).

Offering

Offering

Also, on Sunday morning an offering plate will be passed to collect our weekly contributions (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). As our guest, you are not under any obligation to make a contribution! This is the responsibility of the members in our efforts to support the work of the Lord’s Church.

The Lord's Supper

The Lord's Supper

When you visit on Sunday mornings, the Lord’s Supper will be included in the worship service because the Lord’s people observe this memorial every first day of the week. The reason for this is our desire to follow the New Testament teachings. The first century church celebrated this memorial on each first day of the week (Acts 20:7). During this observance, plates containing pieces of unleavened bread and cups of the fruit of the vine will be passed throughout the assembly. The bread symbolizes the body of Jesus and the grape juice symbolizes His blood that He shed on the cross (Luke 22: 14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29). If you are a baptized Christian, you are welcomed to participate.  But if you don’t participate, there is no need to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable or ashamed
